Volunteer
Volunteering with Christchurch Community Partnership (CCP) is a chance to make a difference on your doorstep. By giving us a few hours of your time, you can give something invaluable back to your local community. And our volunteers tell us it’s as rewarding for them as it is for our clients.
The benefits of volunteering for CCP
Our volunteers gain skills, build friendships and give as much or as little time as they wish. The benefits of volunteering for CCP include:
-
Flexible working patterns that fit around other commitments
-
No minimum commitment, if you can help that's great!
-
Training opportunities
-
Gain work experience and references
-
Great way to make new friends
-
Supporting your local community
-
Make a genuine difference to other people’s lives.
What we offer you
We offer a supportive environment and all volunteers are truly valued by the organisation. We also encourage volunteers to work across the services that interest them rather than confining themselves to any one area if that is what they prefer.
We welcome volunteers who can commit to a few hours a week, a few hours a day or even on a project basis. Some roles require a regular commitment of time, but others do not.
We really do have something for everyone whether you are retired, working, or attending college. We strive to ensure volunteering fits around your life – instead of the other way around!
Transport volunteer opportunities
Our volunteer drivers provide essential door-to-door transport to those who would otherwise struggle to access services and activities. They can either drive a small minibus (for Dial a Bus) or use their own car (for Neighbour Cars).
Our fantastic Bus Buddies accompany people on our buses. They offer company and conversation during the journey, as well as assistance getting on and off the buses when it's needed by our clients.
Community Connections
volunteer opportunities
Our amazing team of Christchurch Angels empower people and enable them to reconnect with their community. To join the team, you simply need to be a people person who enjoys interacting with others and a good listener.
Are you handy with a spanner? Can you find your way around an online form? Our Helpful Neighbours lend a hand with one-off practical tasks, from changing a light bulb and fixing a shelf to helping with online admin tasks.
Are you friendly and chatty? Do you like a cuppa and a slice of cake and some really good company? To help out, you simply need to be happy making sure a room full of people have a hot drink and a slice of something nice, whilst chatting and listening. Easy.
